10.30am-2.30pm: Wallerawang Bowling Club. All the Celebrations for the Australia Day ceremonies and related events in Wang are to be held at the Wallerawang Bowling Club – there is sure to be plenty of food, people and loads to keep you entertained for the day. The Wallerawang, Lidsdale Progress Association hosts the Australia Day Celebration, with a Guest Speaker, barbecue, market stalls, damper cooking competition, raffles, music and lots more.
10.30am: Portland (Wolgan Street). If you are in Portland for the day, head outside to the markets for a great day out. Australia Day ceremony is 12 noon. Entertainment includes markets, music and many acts
12noon-4.00pm: Lithgow Swimming Pool, (George Coates Avenue). Lithgow swimming pool is the centre of the fun activities in Lithgow itself, with a giant water slide, free pool entry and a Circus school on for the day
4.00pm: Rydal Village, (Bathurst Street, Rydal). Home made Billy Cart Races!! Don’t forget to bring your helmet (and maybe some long sleeved clothing!) The it is on to the showground for gum boot throwing, tug of war and yabbie races – does it get more Australian than that?
4.00pm: Queen Elizabeth Park in Lithgow. – The serious business is on in the Park at 4pm with the Mayor’s Citizenship Ceremony, presentation of Awards and speech by Australia Day Ambassador Jose Calarco Director, Descendance Aboriginal And Torres Strait Islander Dance Theatre. 5.00pm-8.30pm: Queen Elizabeth Park in Lithgow. Bring a picnic basket and blanket and enjoy the live music!
